What is Botox?
Botox is the trade name for a vaccine that relaxes muscles.
A pair of Canadian based Opthamalogists first pioneered Botox for facial lines as early as 1988.
They noted that patients who had been treated with Botox for eyelid spasms seemed to have much smoother skin around the eyes following Botox treatment.
Botox has become a very popular, non-invasive method of softening facial expression lines and making the face look refreshed and younger. The treatment works by relaxing the tiny facial muscles which create expression lines. The muscles no longer contract therefore the overlying skin stays smooth and crease-free. The result is a more youthful look.
